Indications

Iodoformum is a homoeopathic medicine derived from Iodoform, a compound containing iodine. It holds significant value in the assistment of tubercular conditions, especially tubercular meningitis, and chronic diarrhoeas in children. It is particularly beneficial in neurological, pulmonary, and digestive ailments associated with tubercular or wasting states. Iodoformum is used both internally and topically, and is suited for weak, drowsy patients with chronic respiratory distress, abdominal distention, and neuromuscular weakness. Common Name:  Iodoform SBL's Iodoformum can be helpful in the following conditions: • Tubercular Conditions Highly beneficial in tubercular meningitis. Iodoformum assists in managing symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis, especially in early stages with chest pain and haemoptysis. • Chronic Diarrhoea in Children Assists subacute and chronic diarrhoea, especially in undernourished or tubercular children. Relieves greenish, watery, undigested stools accompanied by irritability and distended abdomen. Scaphoid (sunken) abdomen, especially in children. Useful in cholera infantum and enlarged mesenteric glands. • Head and Neurological Symptoms Alleviates sharp, neuralgic headaches with a heavy feeling in the head. Head feels too heavy to lift; itching in the occiput. Helpful in meningitis with disturbed sleep, sighing, and crying in children. Marked drowsiness and lethargy. • Eye Disorders Iodoformum addresses retro-bulbar neuritis, central scotoma, and partial atrophy of the optic disc. Symptoms include dilated pupils, unequal reaction to light, diplopia, and failing vision. • Respiratory and Chest Conditions Soreness in apex of right lung, with wheezing and cough, especially at night. Smothering sensation, as if a weight is on the chest. Pain in left breast, described as a hand grasping at the base of the heart. Asthmatic breathing and haemoptysis in suspected or early tuberculosis. • Muscular and Extremity Weakness Marked weakness of legs and knees, especially when going upstairs. Unable to stand or walk with eyes closed (positive Romberg sign indicating neuromuscular weakness).

Read the label carefully before use. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Keep out of the reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place; avoid sunlight and heat. Avoid strong smells (onion, hing, mint, garlic) during use. Allow 15 minutes gap between two homoeopathic medicines, 30 mins gap between Homoeopathic medicines and food, or one hour gap between Homoeopathic medicines or another system of medicines.
