Pertussinum is a specialized homoeopathic nosode derived from the Bordetella pertussis bacterium , the causative agent of Whooping Cough . It is highly useful in managing spasmodic, paroxysmal coughs , particularly in children. It is particularly indicated when coughing fits are severe, repetitive, and accompanied by retching , vomiting , or respiratory distress . Its action extends to the upper respiratory tract , offering relief in cases of tickling in the throat , flushing , choking , and deep croupy cough . Indicated when cough ends in vomiting or sobbing . May be used during community outbreaks or when exposed to infected individuals. Helps manage symptoms in all stages of the illness—from onset to convalescence. Spasmodic and Paroxysmal Cough Manages repeated bouts of violent, choking cough, worse at night or upon waking. Strangling or suffocative sensation associated with cough. Pertussinum helps in deep, croupy, spasmodic cough with flushing of the face . Tickling in the throat-fauces or trachea that provokes persistent coughing fits. Associated coryza (runny nose) and itching of the palate at bedtime.
