Rumex acetosa , commonly known as Sorrel, is a homoeopathic medicine prepared from the fresh leaves of the plant belonging to the Polygonaceae family. Traditionally known for its sharp taste and medicinal value, it is particularly useful in acute gastric and esophageal conditions, especially where there is inflammation, soreness, or ulcerative sensations. Rumex acetosa is also indicated in convulsive states, marked by muscular spasms, prostration, and intense abdominal pain.
